For every member
The Africa PR Network brings together people who shape how Africa is seen. It works because members can speak openly, ask for help and do business with each other in confidence. Every member agrees to this code on joining.
What we ask of each other
- Be who you say you are. Your profile is yours, accurate, and under your own name. Membership and whitelist codes are personal and are not shared.
- Be generous and professional. Share what you know, answer when you can, and treat every member with respect, whatever their country, seniority, gender, religion or background.
- Keep confidences. What is said in members-only sessions and conversations stays there unless the speaker agrees otherwise. Do not publish, quote or screenshot it without permission.
- Respect the directory. It exists so that members can find and work with each other. Do not copy it, export it, add members to mailing lists, or send unsolicited sales messages.
- Be honest in business. Represent your work, your clients and your results truthfully, declare conflicts of interest, and honour what you agree with other members.
- Tell Africa’s story accurately. We are here to position the continent authentically. Members do not spread disinformation or pass off paid content as independent.
What has no place here
- Harassment, intimidation, discrimination or hate speech of any kind.
- Unwelcome sexual attention, in person or in messages.
- Impersonation, fraud, or misusing another member’s information.
- Using the Network to break the law.
If something goes wrong
Tell us at network@africaprweek.com. We read every report, handle it in confidence, and do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who reports in good faith. You can also block another member in the app at any time.
Depending on what has happened we may speak to the member concerned, remove content, suspend an account, or end a membership. Where a membership is ended for breaking this code, the fee is not refunded.
